Candor After the Fire
Mon, June 5, 2017
Right now, Orange Walk resident Edison Urbina is attempting to put his life back together after a fire almost destroyed his entire house on Liberty Avenue.

This house caught fire on Saturday morning sometime after 11:00, and Urbina thinks that it is a case of arson. This evening, he gave us a tour of the remains of the house, and he granted us a very candid interview explaining why he thinks someone intentionally set it ablaze. Here's what he told us:

Edison Urbina - Homeowner
"I lived here from 1981 since my mother was alive. I give her a lot of stress, now I have no mother, or father, I have nothing"

Reporter
"What happened this morning?"

Edison Urbina - Homeowner
"The house caught fire, I smoke too much drugs. Somebody came to light the house on fire because they saw that I was smoking too much drugs and I'm on my own. I didn't see who did it because I went to by my drugs and by the time I went to buy my drugs, I came back, my house was on fire. It was a sad mistake. Every sad mistake I do, I after to try to get over that and just do something better because the more I do it, the more it's going to happen to me."

Reporter
"Were you able to save anything?"

Edison Urbina - Homeowner
"I did everything I could do, in the name of God and everything just bring back everything."

Reporter
"So, everything was burned?"

Edison Urbina - Homeowner
"Not everything was burned. I just thank God it was only a previews and not the whole house. I could still recover and get back a life."

The house and the contents were not ensured, and though he thinks that someone started the fire intentionally, the fire investigators continue to review the case at this time.
