GSU Beat Keith
Fri, July 14, 2017
Keith Yearwood is the brother of well known police Inspector Fitzroy Yearwood, but he's also a deportee, and he says that may be what caused the GSU to pounce on him last night. Yearwood says he was pulling up to Tow Tow grocery with two kids in his car - when the GSU pulled up and proceeded to beat him down:.

"Members of the GSU unit surrounded my car with machine guns and demanded that I and my daughter get out the car. When upon getting out the car, one of the GSU officers dragged me by my hair and try to pull me down to the ground. The other one put a gun on my daughter and demanded that she get out. I informed both of them before they even asked her to get out that it was my daughter who is also and minor. She is only 15 years old."

"They responded by tell me shut the "F" up. So they got her out of the car. Actually was standing guard with her while 4 of them continuously beat me for like 5 minutes or so. For what reason I don't know. I ask the officer for what reason did he approach my car. He said so what, the police don't have the right to pull you over. I said the same way I have the right to ask why am I being pulled over. But ever since I became being an activists, I went on Dickie Bradley Monday night show criticizing the methods of operation by the GSU, I've become a target."

"Can you tell us the injuries sustained and also have you gotten a medical report and are you going to take this further?"

Keith Yearwood, Beaten by GSU
"I have received a medical legal form and I took it to Karl Heusner Hospital last night and the doctor ruled it has harm and I am going to pursue it in the courts. I am upset because not for myself only, but for me and my children's safety, because I had two children in front of the police while I am being beaten up."

Reporter
"What has happened to your neck?"

Keith Yearwood, Beaten by GSU
"My neck is fractured."

Reporter
"You had a younger and a daughter who witnessed this. How are they coping with this horrific incident?"

Keith Yearwood, Beaten by GSU
"Both of them are dramatized. I just let them know that this is just a part of being from the south side when you are black."

As Yearwood indicated he plans to sue the police department.
