Cops Questioned Over Queen Square Ruction
Fri, September 29, 2017
Last night we told you about the uproar in North Creek Alley where residents say that police stormed in and roughed them up. Well, the police have a very different version of events. They say that 2 residents aggressed them. Members of the Special Branch and Special Assignment Team say that they were on Armadillo Street searching for drugs and firearms in an open lot when they saw 2 men leaving the area.

Police approached the 2 men to search them but one of the men Delbert Palacio allegedly started to curse the officer. The other man allegedly tried to aggress the officer and protect Palacio.

That commotion drew a crowd who joined in the cursing chorus against the officer. As the crowd swelled and the insults intensified, the officers fell back and took Palacio with them.

But the residents didn't back down and according to police they started to throw bottles at the officers. An officer then fired 3 shots in the air to disperse the crowd.

Well, after that ordeal Palacio was charged with one count of harm upon Officer Fenton Sutherland, one count of resisting arrest, and one count of indecent words. He was arraigned today in court. But Chief Magistrate Sharon Frazer expressed concerns based on the video footage which has been circulate don Facebook.

She questioned how the police could claim Palacio was resisting arrest and how the police knew for sure that it was Palacio who used the indecent words when a number of persons were cursing out the officers.

In court, Palacio told Chief Magistrate, Sharon Fraser that he was never resisting arrest as he was already handcuffed and could not do any such thing. Looking at all angles of the case, Palacio was granted bail of $600 plus one surety of the same amount of which he was able to meet within minutes of his arraignment.

Outside the courtroom, Palacio's mother said her son has still not been taken to be seen by a doctor after police roughed him up and beat him up so badly that he is now limping. She said that her son was doing nothing wrong. Of course the North Creek Alley residents are enraged that one of their own was charged. Police are looking for Doyle Palacio for throwing missiles at police.
