Wed, November 15, 2017

28 year old Curlan Phillips is on remand tonight for attempted murder. Phillips was also charged with dangerous harm and use of deadly means of harm. He is accused of shooting Freedom Street resident Inmar Welch in March of this year. Welch was hanging out in front of a house on Jones Street when Phillips allegedly drove by, came out of his vehicle and shot at Welch hitting him in his lower back.

Today in court Phillips asked for leniency because he says he has a 2 year old son who has heart problems and he is the only one to take care of him. But he did not produce anything to prove this. He also said that the case was settled out of court. But regardless of his statements, he was he was remanded into custody until January 29.
