| Two Side To Caye Caulker Story |

| There was a stabbing yesterday morning in Caye Caulker village. Police responded to reports of a fight in an area known as the Palapa - where the warring parties had already fled. They then tracked down a vessel on the Western Side of the Island where they found 34 year old Jamal Bennett with a stab wound to his midsection and shoulder.
Police say Bennett was involved in a fight with 31 year old Jermaine Grant.
But villagers say that police actually chased after the culprits and opened fire in a public area. What's more they allege that one of the men bartered for his freedom - by turning over a gun - which was labelled as found property. WE know that to be standard police procedure - so the story does have some credence.
Bennett is listed in a stable condition.
