She Fired Four Shots
Thu, March 15, 2018

Shots were fired just a few blocks from the Raccoon Street police station in Belize City last night.  It happened when a Chinese shopkeeper got into a dispute with an area resident who came banging at his door.

The man ended up lashing the grocer with a two by four - and that';s when the shopkeeper's lady friend pulled out her licensed pistol and fired four warning shots.  Police filled in the details:..

ASP Alejandro Cowo - OC, CIB Belize City
"Just after 10 PM on the corner of Bocatora and Raccoon Street whilst he was inside of his residence a male person went and bang on the door, he came out to see what was happening, he had an altercation with a male person, the male person left. Shortly afterwards the person came back and began to hit the building with a 2 by 4, he came out and he was lashed on his hands. As a result a friend that was along with him fired 4 shots in the air frightening the male person, as a result police arrived and the person was detained."

Jules Vasquez
"So and the friend was a male or female?"

ASP Alejandro Cowo
"It's a female person, licensed owner."

Jules Vasquez
"So a female came out and fired 4 shots from her licensed weapon."

ASP Alejandro Cowo
"The female was along with the male person."

Neither party has been charged as yet - as both were giving statements.
