There were strong calls this weekend for Guatemalan president Jimmy Morales to resign. Several social groups released a joint statement saying, quote,
"Guatemalans demand...the resignation of Jimmy Morales for corruption, for thievery,". They staged weekend protests to demand his resignation after a second round of investigations into illicit campaign financing.
