From GSU Chokehold to Criminal Charge
Wed, June 13, 2018

Last night we showed you that viral video of a member of the GSU putting a man in a chokehold.  Well, that was 21 year old Ryan Rhaburn - and today he went to court charged for aggravated assault and threatening words upon PC Timothy Roaches.

Represented by attorney Arthur Saldivar, Rhaburn surprised the court when he pleaded not guilty to aggravated assault upon the officer but GUILTY to threatening words.  He is accused of telling PC Roaches were, "Yuh wah feel. Ah don mark yuh face. I wah kill yuh."

But after the facts were read to him in court, and Magistrate Trapp asked Rhaburn if he agreed with the facts, at this point, his attorney, Saldivar stood and said, based on the facts read out in court, he will advise his client to change his plea.  Magistrate Trapp then entered an equivocal plea of not guilty.

Saldivar argues that his client was targetted because police knew that Rhaburn was out on Supreme Court bail for another matter.  Still, Rhaburn was granted another bail of $500 dollars.  He is due back in court on August 15, 2018.
