Homeless Shoplifter in Hopeless Situation
Wed, June 13, 2018

Two nights ago we showed you the vagrant who police chased down after he shoplifted at an Albert Street store.

Well, yesterday, they took 44-year-old homeless man Denroy Ingram to court for stealing $22.80 in clothing from Juanita’s Outlet on Albert Street.

Ingram appeared before Magistrate, Khadeen Palmer and wasted no time in pleading guilty to theft.  Magistrate Palmer fined him $200 dollars, which he has to pay by August 30, 2018, or serve 2 months in prison.  If the homeless man is unable to pay - which seems likely - he will go back to jail, where he first served a stint in 2007, when he went to jail for theft and burglary.

He was caught by hyper-vigilant police teams who have established a heavy presence on Albert Street in the wake of a number of daring armed robberies in the area last month.
