Western Waters Rise, Briefly
Fri, July 6, 2018
There was some alarm raised today when this footage of the Warrie Head Bridge, around mile 60 on the Western Highway was circulated on social media. Many feared the bridge had been washed out, and Cayo would be cut off. But, there's no such thing. The water - which came down from the Barton Creek area has run off - and the area was filled up. Traffic is now moving normally.

There was also some flooding entering Unitedville, and by Central Farm - but again it washed off quickly. The mini flash flooding is the result of 13 to 14 hours of rain the day before which sent all these waters coming down from the hills above.

Again, traffic is moving normally and the waters have receded. NEMO reports that dam waters are normal and so are the river levels.
