One man who did survive a gunshot the head is 23 year old Nyrere Parchue. He was shot last Friday and he was released from the hospital yesterday - Doctors say that despite having a bullet lodged between his scalp and his skull - he is well enough to go home.
The messenger for the Pitts law firm was riding on Friday when a man held him up at gunpoint and stole a sheaf of documents from him. Parchue chased the robber and that's when the assailant shot him in the head. But, miraculously, the bullet never penetrated his skull, and remains lodged there - not posing any immediate threat to his health.
Police have not made any arrests.
