An Orange Walk man was knocked down and killed last night. It happened around 7:30. 63 year old San Jose Cane Farmer Ermitiano Gonzalez was crossing the road between miles 63 and 64 on the Phillip Goldson Highway. That is when pickup truck driver 34 year old Freddy Nicholson ran him over, dragging him under his vehicle for several yards until he realized what had happened. When police got on the scene Gonzalez's mangled body was still lodged under the truck. Blood samples were taken from Nicholson and he was served with a notice of intended prosecution. Gonzales leaves behind 4 sons and 1 daughter.
