Gwen Liz Teachers - Some Will Fall To Natural Attrition
Fri, September 7, 2018
Babb also commented on the situation at Gwen Lizarraga High School. As we've reported, enrollment at that school has sharply declined, which means that many teachers won't have a job. Babb said the Education Minister is trying to find a solution, but for some, there will be natural attrition:..

Carol Babb, Chief Education Officer
"Our deputy Prime Minister, Minister Faber, is trying as hard as much as possible to ensure that each teacher on that staff gets the opportunity to keep their job. But, I don't know if you are aware, there are some of these teachers whose licenses will be expired. So, in a sense, they are purging themselves out of the system. The minister has promised that where teachers are fully licensed and if for some reason we can't keep them at Gwen Liz, he will do his best to find a placement for them somewhere else."

As many as 16 teachers were slated for layoffs.
