PUP Mum On Intelco Settlement
Fri, November 23, 2018
And, if it struck you as a little odd that we only showed the Prime Minister speaking on this issue - it's because no one on the other side said a word.

It's unusual because even when the Government has to pay hefty settlements for PUP deals gone bad - the other side usually comes in saying something like the UDP side cost taxpayers millions by waiting too long to settle, or litigating too long.

But today? Not a word, not even a peep. We asked the Prime Minster about it:...

Jules Vasquez- Reporter
"Were you surprised that no one on the other side had a peep to say?"

Rt. Hon. Dean Barrow- PM
"I was surprised but pleasantly so because I thought that here it is that finally those on the other side are, by their silence, indicating their disapproval, displeasure, disgust at what happened with that particular transaction."

We note that the Leader of the Opposition and the former Prime Minister were both absent from today's house sitting.
