Mon, November 26, 2018
Belize collected eight million dollars from our friends in the Republic of China (Taiwan) today as part of the countries' bilateral cooperation program. It is intended to assist the development of transportation infrastructure. A GOB press release states that the funds will be used for its ongoing work on rehabilitating the Philip Goldson Highway between Belize City and Haulover Bridge; rehabilitation of the Hummingbird Highway, and upgrading of streets and drains in Southside of Belize City. Prime Minister Dean Barrow received the grant from the Taiwanese ambassador to Belize, His Excellency Remus Li-Kuo Chen.
