Fri, December 14, 2018
And there's another food health advisory that you need to take note of. Latest tests on mercury levels in 22 species of fish, across four rivers show declining levels of mercury.

Tests were done in the Macal, Mopan, Belize and New rivers, including Big Falls.

A press release from the Ministry of Health says, quote, "This is the first time the results had fallen below the recommended safe levels…"

And while this is encouraging news, the release adds, quote, "The Ministry…cautions on the recommended fish to be eaten since the fish are not totally free of mercury."
