Did They Kidnap “Lot”?

At today’s press conference, police also told us more about that break in the case of Elodio Aragon Senior, who was the victim of a home invasion and abduction last week.

Police have charged 2 persons with handling stolen goods for items belonging to Elodio Sr., father of the Police Minister of State, Elodio Aragon Jr. 

The head of National Crime Investigation very briefly discussed the arrest of 26 year-old Renold Hernandez, and 19 year-old Rachel Lawrence, and told us how investigators were able to connect them to the home invasion.

“Police investigations have since led to the detention, arrest and charging of Renold Hernandez, a 26 year-old Belizean of a Palmar Road address, Orange Walk, and Rachel Lawrence, 19 years-old, of a Palmar Road address, Orange Walk Town also, for the crimes of handling stolen goods.â€￾

“Handling stolen goods. Sir, can you say items, if any, were recovered?â€￾

“All I will say is that properties belonging to Mr. Aragon was recovered. I won’t go into the details of what was recovered, as the investigation is still ongoing.â€￾

“Do police have anything to link them to the aggravated burglary itself?â€￾

“Well, as I said, the investigation is still ongoing, but so far, what has been gathered resulted in them being arrested.â€￾

As we told you, in the early morning hours of last Thursday, Elodio Aragon Senior was asleep when a group of men broke in tied him up and ransacked the place for valuables. After that, they kidnapped him, and drove him several miles outside of Orange Walk Town. They released him on a feeder road unharmed, and they drove off, stealing his vehicle, which remains missing at this time.
