Belize Soybean Oil To Ja

Earlier this week the Ministry or Trade, Investment and Commerce, in partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture announced the export of the first shipment of soybean oil to Jamaica. Late last week 5 shipping containers filled with crude soybean oil made their way to our CARICOM neighbor. The Directorate for Foreign Trade recognized the need for the product within the region and began sensitization workshops to find companies and farms capable of filling the demand. Eventually, Bel-Car Exports and Imports and the Northern Grains Cooperative were identified as candidates. With the success of this initiative both Ministries have committed to continuing their work increase export opportunities for Belizean companies.
