| Registered US Sex Offender Held In San Pedro For Immig. Offence |

Tonight, the Immigration Department in San Pedro has this man, American, Robert Brent Haynes detained. He is a registered sex offender in Texas where his record shows two charges for indecent sexual contact with a child: one case stems from the year 2000, involving a 9 year old, and another case in 2006, involving an 8 year old.
And while he is a registered sex offender in Texas, he is not accused of any such crime in Belize. Still, the Immigration department picked him up at his sister's restaurant in san Pedro Town this morning. He is being held for an immigration offence, while checks are made with the US Embassy to determine if he has violated any of the terms as a registered sex offender.
