"Members of the BDF reported that on Saturday the 9th March sometime in the early morning, they conducted a marijuana eradication operation in the little Belize area of the Corozal district where they discovered a marijuana plantation containing 4,500 plants ranging from three or four feet in height, as well as 30 pounds of marijuana. No one was found in the area as a result the trees were uprooted and destroyed."

"Initial reports had said that someone was arrested and they were a relative of a senior police officer. Was any such information recovered by the department?"

"No. None. As far as we know, no non one was arrested and it was a BDF led operation. There were no police officers on that operation."

We are told police showed up after the field had been destroyed.
