Belize Coast Guard Head to Chile for Big Competition

7 members of the Coast Guard Special Operations Group are probably already packed up and ready for their journey to Chile tomorrow. This is the first time the Belize Coast Guard Special Operations Group will be participating in the 15th Annual Fuerzas Commando Competition. In a release it states “these men will be competing against nineteen other Special Operation Forces from across the Western Hemisphere in the most distinguished competition of its kind. Fuerzas Commando consists of a series of individual and collective critical tasks and events that include a physical fitness test, obstacle course, rifle and pistol qualification, close quarters combat test, forced march, aquatic event and obstacle course. The events test the participant’s skills and proficiency under unknown and stressful conditions in simulated scenarios.â€￾

 
The competition starts on 17th June and runs for 9 consecutive days. The men return to Belize on July 27th.
