| 8 Year old Killed By 15 Year Old Driver |

The Our Lady of Guadalupe Primary school family in Belmopan is reeling after one of their own was knocked down and killed this afternoon near the school compound. 8 year old Gabriela Corales was riding her bike home after school around 3:35. When she was crossing the pedestrian ramp near Brodies, the driver of an SUV knocked her down. Based on the scene, it seems the vehicle dragged her little body a distance and the back wheel ran over her head. The driver of the vehicle tried to escape but other drivers in the area cornered him. Our information is that police have the driver in custody and he is a 15 year old. We will have more on this tragic case tomorrow. |
