And while those hospital staffers took over the parking area at the KHMH briefly this evening, this morning at the Southern Regional Hospital in Dangriga, a gunman chose to strike in the parking lot of that medical facility.
At five minutes to 12:00, 45 year old Edwin Felix Nasario, known as Nazzy was sitting in his Ford Escape when two men pulled up on a motorbike. One of them got off, pulled out a handgun and shot Nasario three times and they sped off. It was a very deliberate act.
He was in the parking lot of the hospital - and this chilling scene unfolded in public view as attendants brought out a stretcher and rushed him inside the A & E room:
Nasario didn't make it and was pronounced dead shortly after. So far police have no suspects, but well informed townspeople speculate that Nasario may have come into some money recently, and had picked up a few new assets. He may have been targeted as a consequence of this by players in the narco world. Nasario was well known in the community as a former football player who had lived in the US for some years.
