| While the fisheries department is working specifically on queen conch management, the UK and Belize governments are working on a holistic plan to further develop Belize's coastal and marine resources to stimulate economic growth. The Belize Coastal Zone Management and Institute will be hosting a series of meetings with the office of the British High Commissioner to discuss all the details of this master plan. Here is more from yesterday's meeting.
The team is expected to have a draft master plan by the end of the year and an official country sign off on the master plan by 2020. The UK government is implementing this master plan in 8 countries.
