| This afternoon at around 3:00, there was commotion inside the Albert Street Branch of Dibary Store. We found about 100 children trying on different types of shoes.
They were there to get back-to-school footwear sponsored by SMART. These children are at-risk youths in Belize City and Dangriga that the police department is hoping to positively influence so that they can resist the temptations of the gang and street life.
They are current beneficiaries of the department's Youth Mentorship Program, and today, we stopped by to find out about this gift that they're receiving as part of the program. :
The value of the donation from SMART is estimated at $4,000.
