Last night we told you that police had charged 33 year old Jorge Galindo with the murder of Nelson Flores.Â
You may recall that the gunman who murdered Flores wore a motorcycle helmet to hide his identity. How then were police able to make an arrest? ACP Joseph Myvette told us that Galindo was known to the family.
ACP Joesph Myvette - Head, NCIB
"Reference the shooting death of Nelson Flores which had occurred in Santa Elena town on Sunday last. Police have since arrested and charged Jorge Galindo a 33 years resident of Santa Elena town for the crime of murder, attempted murder, and aggravated assault caused upon the other victims at the time the incident had occurred. So far I will not go into details other than to say that they were both familiar with each other, and the accused is familiar with the family."

"Can we ask how he was identified if he entered the house with the helmet on?"
ACP Joesph Myvette
"Well there are other means of identification it could have been by a description of the person or it could have been by voice identification since he did speak whilst he was there."
The victim of the attempted murder, the Flores’s 12 year old daughter, remains in a stable condition. |
