Modi Makes Major Grant to Caricom
Fri, September 27, 2019
And while that money for new schools is from the CDB, the government of India is making a significant climate change grant to CARICOM - and Belize will benefit directly.

On Wednesday in New York - in the margins of the United Nations General Assembly meeting - Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a meeting with 14 CARICOM leaders - including Foreign Minister Wilfred Elrington. Modi announced a 14 million US dollar grant for community development projects in CARICOM and another 150 million US dollar line of credit for solar, renewable energy and climate change related projects.

A tweet from India's Ministry of External Affairs says Modi also announced the setting up of a Regional Vocational Training Center in Belize.
