| Mental illness isn't on the list of the most comfortable and widely discussed topics in Belize. But Kathy Esquivel wrote an entire novel centered on this topic among other pressing social issues. Esquivel is a founding member of the Mental Health Association and the wife of former Prime Minister of Belize Manuel Esquivel. Her book entitled "Benjy" is the 8th title in the Belizean Writers Series. Today at the book launch at the Bliss Centre, Esquivel discussed the context for this book, the themes, and main message she hopes all readers can appreciate.
