Very regularly on this newscast we show you surveillance video of crimes in progress - and, many times, the culprits are caught because of that.
Indeed, these surveillance cameras are getting cheaper, sharper, and turning up everywhere…and the criminals are taking notice.
And that's what inspired one burglar to go for a new look: the cardboard box head. That's right - last night at Dollar Store on Water Lane in Belize City, a burglar put a box over his head so that the camera couldn't make him out.
He then went on properly ransack the place, cleaning out the cash register and breaking into everything he could find.
In the end, we are told, he got off with a few hundred dollars - and properly tore up the place. Police don't have any suspects, but are interrogating the box about who it was hanging out with last night.
