Mon, November 25, 2019
16 Days Of Activism To End Gender Based Violence started this evening with a ceremony and a candlelight vigil. This year the theme is "From Awareness to Accountability Unmasking the Many Faces of Violence" aimed at raising awareness and creating a call of action towards eliminating all forms of gender-based violence.

Special Envoy for women and children, Kim Simplis Barrow said that gender based violence is deeper than physical, or social; it's also an economic concern:

The event was followed by a short candlelight vigil which went to the roundabout on Freetown Road where Orange Awareness Flags were raised in memory of those lost to Gender Based Violence.
