This morning, just before 8:00 Police Corporal Micheal Roches responded to a report of a domestic disturbance at the home of Narciso Manzano. The 67 year old said that his son Byron Ramos who he has a protection order against was assaulting his grand daughter and his daughter.

Corporal Roches said that when he arrived on the farm, he saw 26-year-old Byron Ramos running toward him with a machete. Roches ran but was chased by Ramos. He eventually turned and attempted to shoot his assailant but the gun malfunctioned.

PC Roches was then tackled and fell into a ditch where a struggle ensued between the two men. Ramos allegedly attempted to chop the officer but was eventually subdued. The Corporal escaped with only a cut on his elbow.
