Last night we told you about a carjacking that took place on the Santa Rosa Road near Xunantunich. It involved a makeshift roadblock and masked men who opened fire on 43-year-old Elias Sanchez Guitterez. 

That barrage of bullets caused Guitterez to flee from his vehicle, a Black four-door 1987 Toyota Pickup, which was then stolen along with a cellphone and several other Items. 

Tonight we can report that the vehicle has been recovered intact. It was found without any bullet holes just before 1:00 this afternoon in the area of Paslow Falls - just outside San Ignacio. There were no damages, so the owner drove off in it. Police have no idea what the criminals wanted the well banged up truck for.

In response to the incident, police have stepped up patrols in the area.
