Masked, Armed Robbers At Reimer’s Belmopan

And, going now to Belmopan - Reimer’s Feed Mill on Forest Drive, was targeted by armed burglars again - but this time, the security guard was ready.  

It happened at around 2:00 on Saturday morning when 27 year old guard Eleuterio Reyes had to “lick shotâ€￾ to drive off three masked men - who weren’t afraid to fire back.  Police told us more:

"On Sunday the 2nd day of February 2020 Eleuterio Cruz, security guard at Reimers Feed Miller in Belmopan reported that he was alerted by his dog to a particular area. Open making checks he observed three masked male persons in the compound at which point he drew his issued 9 mm pistol and asked the persons to freeze. Thereafter, the male persons ran away and he fired shots in an attempt to apprehend them. Thereafter the male persons fired back shots at him and there was an exchange. The three male persons managed to escape and were not apprehended. The complainant was not injured and checks were made at the various hospitals and no one came to those institutions with any gunshot injuries. The investigation is ongoing at this time."

"This isn't the first time that this business establishment has been targeted. In fact, I think on the first occasion there were suspects that actually got inside the building and stole a number of items before leaving. Have police given any advice to this particularly as to upping their security."

"Yes, there were security measures that were advised to them and those were in place and the security guard found them before they had broken into anything."
