Belize City's very silted canals are getting a clean. It's a Climate Vulnerability Reduction Program, spearheaded by the Ministry of Works, in partnership with the IDB.
This program is designed to alleviate the effects of flooding and improve the drainage system between the canals, the Haulover Creek, Caribbean Sea and feeder drains.
Dredging of all the major canals should last for about a year.
