Home Invaders Charged
Thu, March 12, 2020

So, while the cops try to identify that home invader, they’ve arrested 3 men who they believe broke into another Belize City businessman’s home last weekend.

At around 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 7th, 2020, 55-year-old Obaidul Islam was at his home with his wife and his brother. They were all rudely awakened by 2 masked burglars who had entered their house. One of them was armed with a knife, and the other was armed with a firearm. The thieves threatened Islam and his family members, and while they were subdued, the men ransacked the house and stole an undisclosed amount of money and their cellular phones.

Police investigated their complaint, and today, they announced that they’ve made arrests for this home invasion. Here’s what the second in command at the National Criminal Investigations Branch told us:

Sr. Supt. Hilberto Romero - Deputy Head, NCIB
"Reference an aggravated burglary report made by Obaidul Islam on the 7th day of March 2020, police have since arrested and charged Aaron Flowers, Andres Emilio, and Philip Guzman jointly for the crime of aggravated burglary. This is after an investigation was conducted, these persons were detained, and now have been charged."

Reporter
"Sir, was anything recovered from that incident?"

Sr. Supt. Hilberto Romero
"Nothing was recovered."

Whenever the accused men are arraigned, we’ll tell you about it.
