Gang Member Allen to Court Again
Mon, March 23, 2020

He was remanded to prison last week Thursday for robbery, but, 22-year-old Ulide Allen was back in Magistrate’s Court today. That’s because police believe that he was the gunman who shot a man back in January.

Police say that at around 10 p.m. on Sunday, January 12th, 2020, Michael Pook, a 31 year-old security guard, was on duty at the corner of Tibruce and Poinsetta Streets. That’s when he was approached by a gunman, who he identified as Allen, who shot him several times to the body. You’ll remember that police released a wanted poster for Allen, but he handed himself into police custody about 10 days ago.

He was investigated, and police later charged him with attempted murder, dangerous harm, and use of deadly means of harm. No plea was taken from Allen when he was arraigned today, and neither could he be granted bail.

Magistrate Emerson Banner has remanded him to the Belize Central Prison until May 19th, 2020.
