Belize now has its 9th positive test for COVID 19, and for the first time, it’s a child.

The female minor came up positive this morning as an immediate contact to one of the other positive patients.

In today’s Ask the Experts Session, DHS Dr. Marvin Manzanero explained:

"That test was concluded through the night. It is a minor that's as much as I'm going to say for now and that minor is linked to one of the previous cases that we had identified in the Cayo district. The person is virtually with no symptoms and is self-isolated at home with one of the contacts that we had documented earlier in the week."
