ITVET Students Will Just Have To Wait
Wed, April 29, 2020
Dr. Villanueva also singled out the academic advancement of technical and vocational students, and how it will work during the COVID-19 threat. She said these types of students will simply have to wait for their school to re-open in order to advance:

Dr. Neulin Villanueva - Deputy Chief Education Officer, MOE
"Definitely, in the ITVET system, none of the promotion, graduation or certification, as they call it, can apply. These students, the trainees, are expected to complete their practical and on-the-job training, whenever school reopens. So, they will continue with their program whenever school reopens."

Yma Casey - Representative, Ministry of Education
"Because it is a competency-based system, correct?"

Dr. Neulin Villanueva
"Correct."
