First COVID Case In Melchor
Mon, June 1, 2020
And while they have started their quarantine, some persons who were under quarantine were released this weekend. According to the Director of Health Service's Facebook page, the most recent batch of 54 negative samples included those in quarantine facilities, so the Ministry of Health authorised their release.

And while that is the good news that none of them brought COVID-19 home, the bad news is that the numbers continue to rise neighbouring countries. The municipality of Othon P. Blanco which includes Chetumal now has 109 cases with 67 of them active.

And, Melchor has also reported its first positive case, which is definitely an Amber alert for Benque Viejo - where illegal movement across the border often goes un-noticed.
