The older population will know that a sleeping policeman refers to a speedbump. But, in Punta Gorda, a police constable may have given that new meaning.
Constable Santiago Choco is seen here in this cell phone video in uniform, literally sleeping on his feet outside a Chinese grocery store as passers-by capture him on camera. He remains in a deep sleep, oblivious to the attention he's attracting.
Eventually, someone shouted his name and he woke up. The Commissioner of police today said, "I cannot comment; I don't know what his condition is; but PSB will be asked to look into it."
