And while Inspector Usher's term will run for 2 years, who knows how long a new US ambassador will get to serve in Belize? That's if he makes it here at all!
The announcement came this afternoon from the White House that President Donald Trump has nominated former South Carolina Lt. Gov. Andre Bauer to become the U.S. ambassador to Belize.
From 2016 to 2019, Bauer gained prominence as a pro-Trump political analyst on CNN. Of course, nomination is one thing, but Senate confirmation usually takes months - notable because President's Trump term ends in November.
