How A Cop Facing Charges Showed Back Up For Work

And last night on Uncut, Jules also challenged the Commissioner on the Orange Walk Corporal of Police, Miguel Alpuche...

And last night on Uncut, Jules also challenged the Commissioner on the Orange Walk Corporal of Police, Miguel Alpuche who was charged for extortion on Thursday, April 20 and by Saturday April 22nd, he was right back at work signing in - at the same station where he had been processed for charged 48 hours earlier.

And, as is his pattern, the Commissioner blamed someone else:

Jules Vasquez:
"You like to talk about how you're rough and If you're bad I will deal with you. Well Mister Miguel Alpuche they sent the directive corporal to charge him from September, but, you have a habit of not listening to the DPP going back to your career even as a regular cop. It didn't bring charges until March of the following year."

"And then two days after the man was charged, he showed up at the police station and signed in for his regular shift. And that was the internal directive that Corporal Alpuche was to report to work as regular. So you report at the same station that's him signing in at the same station where he was charged two days earlier."

Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
"When I got winds of the instruction from the DPP that Alpuche was to be charged for extortion. I asked the question, why wasn't the instruction carried out? And I gave instruction then that it must be carried out today. Right away, they brought him in and they charged him. The talk about him reporting to work two days later, his interdiction letter was prepared the same day that he was charged."

"But Orange Walk is a distance away and so the interdiction letter had not reached to Orange Walk. So when I saw your newscast that he was working. I called the legal officer Mr. Jones, and I told him, make sure O.C. in Orange Walk get the interdiction letter by Whatsapp tonight and make sure it is served on Alpuche because he must not be at work. That was done."

"And for you to say now that I have a habit of not adhering to the DPP's instruction, but again, it's a complete lie."

Jules Vasquez:
"No, sir. There you have a history"

Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
"Hold on, You already made your assertion which is nonsense, it is my turn to play. How many interviews have you not heard the DPP herself give to the media, where she alluded to the fact that this is the best relationship she has ever had with the police? How many. You tell your reporters to put up the video with this and that."

"Tell them to pull up the interview with the DPP where she said those things. So to sit here and make your audience feel like Chester just doesn't listen to the DPP, is bull."

Jules Vasquez:
"But sir, that is what we..."

Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
"No but sir, you see anytime you are in a corner you come up with but sir. but sir what?"

Jules Vasquez:

"But I'm not in a corner at all sir. I have the DPP's... We started out with a statement from the DPP, but I heard you ask and answered."
