| Accused of Civilian Dead In Van, Two Cops Are Freed Of Charges |

Charges have been dropped against two of the four cops accused of causing the death of detainee Derrick Uh. Uh died in August of 2022 when he was forgotten in the back of a police van and succumbed to heat stroke in the many hours he was left in the airless, confined space.
On Wednesday in Corozal Magistrate's Court, the DPP directed that charges should be withdrawn against Police Officers, Isaias Sanchez and Rosario Romero.
The case against the other two officers, Borland and Peralta stand and the matter was adjourned for July 14, 2023 when a preliminary inquiry against them will commence.
