| And while Barrow says he will be a disaster, Albert Vaughan the political operator is positioning himself perfectly for a springboard into national politics. There are eternal rumors that Francis Fonseca will retire .We don't believe any of them - but someday he must. And when he does, his general in Freetown, Albert Vaughan will be right there to slip into the seat.
He was cagey when we asked about it today:

"Do you see it as a priming ground for perhaps seeking national office?"

"Who knows? Who knows, in politics, these things come and the opportunity arise, you take it. No, but I'm not looking."
"I am serving, that's all I do with my life. You watch my track record, it's service. I am not seeking no higher office. Of course. If the vacancy arrives at Channel 7, I will take because I know what that means. You control media in the morning, Jules. I don't want, I'm not seeking higher office. All I want to do is serve my country. Serve this country that I love."
