We've been reporting on the invasive,"clear the land" style developments on San Pedro for a few weeks and tonight a group of islanders are saying they have had enough.

They have sent a petition bearing about 700 signatures to Minister of Sustainable Development, Orlando Habet.

A covering letter says they are concerned about, quote, "land filling, canal path covering, environmental impact, marine fauna, flora and habitats." In the San Pablo area.

They are asking the Ministry and Department of Environment to take action and address this issue.

The letter states, "We, the undersigned, request that the development is stopped and that the canal will be dredged back to how it was."
