After a long weekend that saw four fatal accidents - there were two more this week - again, these victims were on motorcycle. On Tuesday In Belmopan just after 12:30 Pm a delivery man, 29 year old Marcelino Pop was knocked down by an office assistant driving a Nissan Rogue on St Mathew's street in Maya Mopan. Pop sustained numerous life threatening injuries, and later succumbed to them while receiving treatment at the Western regional hospital.

On Wednesday another motorcycle accident claimed the life of a Belizean laborer, between miles 63 and 64 on the Phillip Goldson highway. A motorcycle being driven by 36 year old Pedrito Escalante, collided into 72 year old Thomas Mendez who was riding a green bicycle. Both men were flung onto the pavement, and Mendez sustained severe head injuries. He succumbed to those injuries and was later pronounced dead at the Northern regional hospital.
