| Mentally Ill Man Tried To Leap Prison Fence, Warden Injured By Warning Shot |

| A female prison warden was accidentally injured this afternoon at the Kolbe Central Prison. It happened when a prisoner who had just arrived at the prison tried to escape. He claimed atop the inner fence, and wardens fired warning shots to force him to climb down. One of the shots ricocheted and struck the female officer in her thigh. Her injuries are not life threatening and she was taken to the KHMH for treatment. The prisoner who is believed to be mentally ill had just been remanded for breaking the show glass at La Popular Bakery. He was successfully subdued after the warning shots. |
