For one month we've been reporting on a major weed bust at Customs that implicated two customs officers who had shown an interest in the box which came in through a freight service.
But, there was never any possession established an while police have been investigating, no charges have been levied.
But, they are close to doing so. We asked the commissioner of police about it this morning on Sunup he told us that he is confident that someone will be charged soon.
Dr Richard Rosado, Commissioner of Police
"Well, not to discuss the merit of the case but the file has been completed and it is now with the DPP. But from our viewpoint we do believe there is enough evidential material to lay charges. It's A network of individuals who are involved in the transhipment."
"There is an ongoing investigation and I am confident there will be an arrest soon."
Reports are that two customs officers - who are relatives - may face charges while 5 others are being investigated for involvement. The commissioner of police has reportedly written to the comptroller of customs to advise her of his findings.
