Yesterday you heard the Leader of the Opposition's maiden speech in response to Briceno's budget in the House of Representatives. But immediately following that speech, the two most senior members of the House - after the PM - came out swinging against her. As we told you last night, Francis Fonseca accused her of using Chat GPT to write her speech. And he accused her of doing what every other Leader of the Opposition has done - and just what she said she didn't want to do.

"I have to say that I was very disappointed with her presentation. She started out saying she had a stated desire to differentiate herself. Stated desire to be different than her predecessor, which would not have been too hard but she failed to achieve that. She said, we're not here to just criticize and oppose, we're here to be fair and balanced. The absolute betrayal of that stated desire was almsot immediate when she started to talk. What followed in her presentation was the usual empty, hollow rhetoric. This dark meaningless rhetoric which offered no vision for the country, not one plan for the country. She said nothing about what the UDP could do and would do."
"So in my view, it was a very weak, a very lazy response. And I say that, before anybody say oh you're saying the lady is weak and lazy, I said that about the former leader too. His responses were always weak and lazy. No thought or effort, that's what I mean. No thought or effort had gone into the preparation of their presentation. Just a lot of Googling, Google, you could see a lot of Google thing extracted and a lot of cut and paste of Googling. Chat GPT, yeah."
"So very disappointed and even two members of her team on the other side. Already have a slim little team, a maga team, and two of them couldn't even bother to show up today. Two of them could not get themselves out of bed today to come and hear the Leader of the Opposition deliver her first, historic presentation of the Leader of the Opposition."
