And yesterday you heard the ComPol make some vague accusatory comments directed at the president of the PSU. He said, quote, "I want to ask you in the media to ask him how a phone number connected to him is linked to a high profile investigation involving public officers."
It seemed like a war of words - which would be fought over the media - was starting. However, Flowers shut it down, saying that his phone numbers aren't linked to any criminal investigation, and challenged Dr Rosado to prove otherwise. He added that he stands by his previous dismissive comments about the Commissioner.

"I don't intend to allude that question but I also think it is important to focus on the issue at hand which is the bigger issue rather than a war of words between the ComPol and Dean Flowers. I have made certain statements defending the teachers, I would have made certain statements that accused the police department of weaponizing the force against teachers. That is what they did in an attempt to intimidate. I would have also said this current commissioner has called for the continued weaponization of the law against primarily black men and we know what the court said about that and he wanted to compound what was already unconstitutional. I would have said that this government now intends to weaponize the constitution against primarily black men. And I stand by those. I may have gone a little bit far to say that his actions in his first month and more so in his first week when he called for an SOE for 6 months, he's setting himself up to be one of the worst. Now a news media reported that I said he was the worst, I did not say that. I said his actions are setting himself up. Did he take offense to that? I don't know."
"But he uttered certain comments that in my view are defamatory and has caused further defamatory comments and he will have to answer and one news media said he opened a can of worms and I hope that he will take that can of worms and feed it, feed the media, feed whosoever. Because if you can't do that, you will have to answer. And this is one time I won't be apologetic of exploiting the people's purse because of his error. But like I said, to bring this matter to a close, Dean Flowers has two numbers, 600-5110, 615-3510. He cannot in no way shape or form associated any one of those numbers to any, not an iota as the lawyers would say, that they're associated. And I challenge him to prove otherwise."
